Healing Home Campus
Expanding the Campus, Deepening the Mission
Making Space for Progress
Located on the same block as the main building, Healing Home will include 38 one-bedroom efficiency units, with 19 units for men and 19 units for women.
Four of these units will be reserved for youth aging out of the foster care system in partnership with Sioux Falls Housing.
A centralized case management office will serve all residents, ensuring easy access to guidance and support throughout the building.
The main level will house St. Francis House’s first dedicated programming space, increasing the organization’s capacity to engage community partners on-site. Meeting rooms will allow partners to connect privately with guests, while the expanded space opens the door to new collaborators and programming opportunities.

A Growing Need in Our Community
Homelessness in our community continues to grow and evolve, increasing the need for structured, supportive housing. Today, demand for that support exceeds the space available in our facility.
As of February 2026, the St. Francis House waiting list included 155 men and 89 women seeking placement. While the organization has added 45 beds in the past two years, bringing total capacity to 168 beds, the need continues to outpace available space.
More individuals are seeking not only shelter, but the time and structure necessary to rebuild their lives and prepare for long-term stability and self-sufficiency.
Who St. Francis House Serves
St. Francis House exists to help people reclaim their independence. The organization welcomes men, women, and families with children. Guests are referred by physicians, specialty courts, correctional facilities, and community agency partners.
Guests receive basic needs such as safe shelter and meals while also participating in individualized programming designed to address the circumstances that led to and perpetuate homelessness.
We help guests:
Obtain and maintain employment
Build financial responsibility and savings
Address personal challenges with support and accountability
Prepare for long-term housing and independence
Community Partnerships
St. Francis House works closely with community partners to ensure guests receive comprehensive support.
Healthcare providers, recovery organizations, educators, and workforce development partners all contribute to the services available to guests.
By collaborating with established community organizations, St. Francis House avoids duplicating services while maximizing the impact of donor support.
This collaborative approach ensures guests receive specialized care while allowing St. Francis House to remain focused on providing structured housing and programming.
