Christmas at the St. Francis House

The holiday season is a special time at St. Francis House — a season filled with joy, gratitude, and the spirit of giving. Each year, our community comes together to spread hope and kindness to those who need it most. From decorating the House and serving warm meals to providing gifts and essentials for our residents and guests, Christmas here is truly about sharing love in action.

This year, we invite everyone to be part of the celebration! Whether you volunteer your time or donate items there are so many meaningful ways to make a difference. The events listed below are just a few of the opportunities to get involved and help us create a Christmas full of comfort, connection, and compassion for all. Together, we can make this holiday season truly bright for our St. Francis House family.

Angel Tree – Our Angel Tree makes it easy to give! Each tag on the tree lists an item from our needs list—things that help bring warmth, dignity, and hope to those we serve. Choose a tag, shop for the item, and return your gift to help brighten someone’s Christmas.

Adopt-A-Family – Adopting a family for Christmas means choosing to sponsor a family in need during the holiday season by providing gifts, clothing, food, or other essentials. It’s a way to make the holidays brighter for families who may be struggling—ensuring that parents can put presents under the tree and that everyone feels cared for and remembered.

Typically, each adopted family provides a short wish list with items like children’s toys, warm clothing, household needs, and sometimes a grocery card for a holiday meal. Donors or groups “adopt” the family by purchasing and delivering these items, helping relieve financial stress and spreading hope and joy during the season.

Christmas Toy Store - When you buy new toys for our Toy Store Giveaway, you help bring Christmas joy to children whose families are working hard to get back on their feet. Parents can “shop” for gifts at no cost, choosing toys their children will love — restoring both dignity and the magic of the season.

Your gift of a new toy helps turn hardship into happiness and ensures every child has something to smile about on Christmas morning.

Christmas Activities - Sponsoring Christmas Day activities helps make the holiday joyful for individuals and families who might otherwise spend it alone or without celebration. Sponsors help provide meals, decorations, music, small gifts, and special activities that bring comfort and community on Christmas Day.

Your support ensures that everyone we serve experiences the warmth and hope of the season — a reminder that they are not forgotten.
